Using a travel eSIM hotspot with your laptop
Check hotspot support and manage shared mobile data while travelling.
Check the selected package
Before buying, open the package details and check whether hotspot sharing is supported. Your phone must also support tethering and allow it with that profile. Do not assume every package or device has identical settings.
Connect your laptop
First confirm that mobile internet works on the phone with Wi-Fi off. Select the travel eSIM for mobile data, then enable Personal Hotspot or the equivalent setting. Use a strong hotspot password and connect your laptop to that network. Follow your device manufacturer’s instructions if the option is missing.
Remember that data is shared
The laptop does not receive a separate allowance. System updates, cloud sync, video meetings and downloads all use the eSIM’s data. Pause large background transfers and check the laptop’s metered-connection options before a long session. Turn off the hotspot when finished.
Check usage before important work
Account usage figures may lag behind actual consumption. Keep some data in reserve and avoid treating the displayed balance as an instant meter.
